Maple Butter Carrots
These are super easy, and delicious. I’ve made them for Thanksgiving dinners, but also just as a side dish. I use just a little maple syrup, but you do you!
Ingredients
One 2lb bag of carrots, peeled and sliced
1 stick butter
1-3 tablespoons maple syrup
Salt and pepper (optional)
Instructions
Boil water in a saucepan that fits your steamer. If you don’t have a steamer, boil an inch of water at the bottom of a saucepan.
Add carrots, and steam until they’re tender when pierced with a fork. This will depend on how big your carrots are – I start checking at about 8 minutes, and then every two minutes until they’re done.
In another saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir as it melts until it gets a little bubbly, and just starts to turn brown (but don’t let it burn!). Remove from heat and whisk in 1 to 3 tablespoons of maple syrup, depending on just how sweet you like things.
Toss the carrots in the butter and maple syrup. If you’d like, add salt and pepper to taste!
