Maple Butter Carrots

These are super easy, and delicious. I’ve made them for Thanksgiving dinners, but also just as a side dish. I use just a little maple syrup, but you do you!

Ingredients

One 2lb bag of carrots, peeled and sliced

1 stick butter

1-3 tablespoons maple syrup

Salt and pepper (optional)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a saucepan that fits your steamer. If you don’t have a steamer, boil an inch of water at the bottom of a saucepan.

  2. Add carrots, and steam until they’re tender when pierced with a fork. This will depend on how big your carrots are – I start checking at about 8 minutes, and then every two minutes until they’re done.

  3. In another saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir as it melts until it gets a little bubbly, and just starts to turn brown (but don’t let it burn!). Remove from heat and whisk in 1 to 3 tablespoons of maple syrup, depending on just how sweet you like things.

  4. Toss the carrots in the butter and maple syrup. If you’d like, add salt and pepper to taste!
